
Over the 13 years since Charlie and Janie Houser restored and reopened Moore Brother’s Fresh Market, is has gone through many changes to meet the communities needs. Now as “Jesse’s On The Side” our focus is on the coffee shop, bakery, specialty items, hand cut meat, pizzas and hot bar for lunch. Jesse’s On The Side is known for even more though. Our house made sausages, smoked St. Louis ribs and boston butts and chickens and rotisserie chickens fly out the doors daily. We do a great breakfast, lunch and pizza business Monday thru Saturday from 7AM to 9PM and our Holiday Gift program has done nothing but grown year to year.
Jesse’s on the Side is located in the Moore Brothers Fresh Market building sharing the same building with Jesse’s Restaurant. JOS is one of the only scratch bakeries anywhere in our area. You will not find a cake box mix or premade anything is our bakery. Jennifer Haffner heads up the bakery and is known for her artisan filled breads, cookies, muffins, scones and our best seller Magnolia Granola made with local honey. Our “Kitchen Sink” cookie will make you dream about it once you’ve had one. The staff makes all the desserts and fresh breads for the restaurant and are always available for special orders of cakes and pies.
JOS also offers a full Hot Bar and Cold Deli for lunch and dinner. The Hot bar always has Moore Brother’s smoked ribs, butts and chickens and rotisserie chickens and our sausage. Pizza is our new specialty with fresh dough and fresh local ingredient toppings. Ask for the whole wheat pizza. Some of the old favorites of Moore Brother’s Market can still be found at Jesse’s on the Side like an extensive wine selection, cold beer and drinks, Free Trade Organic coffee beans, old fashion candy counter and our butcher comes in daily to stock our deli case with fresh cut meat.
THE BAKERY-we have a great following of customers who stop in early mornings to grab a Free Trade Organic Coffee, Latte, Cappucino or espresso, herbal teas and fresh out of the oven muffins, scones, sticky buns, cinnamon buns, breads and bagels. They try it once and they’re hooked.
DAILY HOT BAR-Daily starting at 11AM Jesse’s Chef cooks up the best of country cookin’. Our loyal following loves meatloaf, chicken and dumplings, chicken enchiladas, squash and corn casserole, fresh local vegetables and cobblers. The menu changes daily and is always served hot with cornbread or dinner rolls and with a sweet smile. Jesse’s on the Side is up to cater any event and comprises our Holiday meals every year.
MEAT DEPT-In house butcher and face of Moore Brother’s fresh Market is Mr. John Patterson. He has been hand cutting steaks for our customers for 13 years and can make homemade sausage and serve it with a smile like no other.
GROCERY-Over the years the groceries have scaled down to meet the demand for more baked goods and specialty snacks as well as a wide variety of wine and beer. Don’t miss ”Jesse’s on the Go” frozen casseroles and soups that are perfect accompaniments to our fresh baked goods and hand cut meat.
